WELCOME

The decision to attend therapy can be a significant moment in one’s life.  The choice to seek this kind of support can come about for many reasons.  People seek therapy to deal with issues, conflicts, and problems associated with a range of topics: interpersonal relationships, professional/career issues, family struggles, unwanted symptoms/behaviors/feelings, a desire to make change, a need to process/grieve painful events from the past or present, self-exploration and many other purposes.

Given the importance of such issues, it is critical to find a therapist with whom one feels comfortable.  In order to help you with this vital process, I would like to share a bit about my philosophy about therapy, my style, and my specialties.

I believe the primary condition that underlies a successful therapeutic relationship is the creation of a safe place for one to explore conflicts, issues, and feelings.  When this is possible, I believe the door opens for meaningful and significant growth to occur.  Perhaps more importantly, I believe growth can take many forms: improved relationships, improved sense of well-being, enhanced sense of self, reduction of painful/unwanted symptoms, career success, etc.  The kind of growth one is seeking is best decided upon by careful collaboration between the therapist and the client.

I seek to create an atmosphere that is warm and empathetic while encouraging clients to be open to deep and profound exploration.  This dynamic has proven to foster the kind of environment I believe is conducive to growth and change.

I treat clients dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, career dilemmas, distressing life events, loss, and a desire for growth/self-exploration.

I also specialize in the following areas:

Eating Disorders (anorexia, bulimia, overeating)

Couple’s Therapy

Career Guidance for professionals and artists

Women’s Fertility Issues
